The great feature of skills is that they are self-perpetuating. Mastery of one skill leads to confidence in another skill and so on.

This is a New Zealand workbook. In mostly double page spreads students are introduced to the reasons why each skill is important and how to tackle it. Stimulating practice activities are provided.

The contexts for each skill are topics widely taught in the Year 11 Geography curriculum - population trends, farming, mining, environmental issues, extreme natural events, Asia, the Pacific, local area etc. All context material is completely up-to-date: 2001 NZ Census results are used throughout and includes examples of full colour aerial photographs and a topo map extract.
