Gordon carves the stone bowl using the natural shape of the stone to maintain its essence.
The early Māori used Serpentine Pounamu for more everyday type of tools, food preparation tools and pendants. Pounamu can be a singular piece of greenstone or a mix of different types of minerals and more, this is what makes it so beautiful and unique. Over millions of years of tectonic plate movement the minerals have been lifted up, pressed, folded and distorted forming beautiful swirls, spots and rivers of the different minerals in the stone.
Serpentine is soothing to the emotional body, allowing you to release your fear of change and hardship so that you are able to look ahead to the future with expectation and excitement. Said to help you to be less sensitive to the thoughts, comments or opinions of others. It can help you feel more self confident and less invested in receiving external praise or appreciation. Serpentine is a stone of independence. It engenders a sense of being protected, stimulating you to move into new realms and social circles without hesitancy or fear.
